Lex Infinitum: Overview

Lex Infinitum is an internationally recognised ADR competition that brings together some of the brightest young legal minds from across the globe. It provides a dynamic platform for law students to engage with the intricacies of mediation and negotiation, sharpening their advocacy skills while fostering an appreciation for alternative dispute resolution. Since its inception, the competition has aimed to bridge the gap between theory and practice by presenting participants with realistic and thoughtfully designed problems that test their ability to think critically, communicate persuasively, and resolve disputes amicably. More than just a contest of legal acumen, Lex Infinitum embodies the spirit of collaboration, cross-cultural exchange, and professional growth, nurturing future lawyers and mediators who can contribute to a more harmonious legal ecosystem worldwide.

As Lex Infinitum enters its 11th edition in January 2026, it promises to further this legacy with revitalised spirit and vision. This year's edition will feature carefully curated problems that reflect contemporary challenges in mediation, ensuring a balanced blend of legal complexity and practical relevance. With the continued guidance of our distinguished ADR experts — who bring with them extensive experience as mediators, assessors, and mentors — the competition promises participants a holistic and enriching learning experience.

Knowledge Sessions.

Each year, the ADR Board of V.M. Salgaocar College of Law conducts a Certification Course through its Knowledge Sessions, which are carefully curated programmes designed to provide participants with a comprehensive introduction to the practice of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), with particular emphasis on the fundamentals of negotiation and mediation.

These sessions are conducted by Expert Assessors, who are internationally acclaimed professionals possessing extensive academic and practical experience in the field of mediation. Through a blend of theoretical instruction and practical insights, the Knowledge Sessions seek to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world dispute resolution practices.
